Piano Series

Founded in 1994, Steinway Society-The Bay Area is a non-profit volunteer-based presenting organization offering a unique set of piano recitals in an intimate setting. The series offers seven piano recitals per season by professional artists, many of whom are winners of international competitions. The Steinway Society strives to bring in a variety of programs in order to increase local exposure and encourage appreciation of piano music in all its many forms: classical, jazz, 1920s, modern and internationally themed arrangements. Subscriptions are sold in sets of seven or four. Individual tickets are also available.

In-Home Salon Recitals

In the days before recorded music, in-home recitals were a common occurrence. During the Classical and Romantic periods, most composers and pianists performed in a hosted “Salon” a majority of the time. Luminaries like Chopin and Liszt often gave recitals in the homes of their friends and patrons.

Steinway Society-The Bay Area is proud to offer you our In-Home Recital Program. The In-Home Recital Program offers you the opportunity of:

  • Experiencing a unique piano recital resembling the “Salon” of previous generations
  • Hearing the full potential of the fine piano in your home
  • Supporting music education and excellence among your family and friends
  • Providing inspiration to the performer in a casual and appreciative environment

A coordinator from Steinway Society will work with you to plan an inspiring special event featuring a pianist and/or other musicians of excellent quality. We have a large roster available for your selection. Additionally, themed events can be planned around your preference of classical or jazz or a specific composer of your choice.
